Kathy is a native of the U.P. Michigan and after high school, attained a Vet Tech degree and worked in that field for several years. She returned to school to obtain her Bachelor degree from Purdue University (with a major in Animal Sciences) and went on to earn a Masters degree in Business, also from Purdue. After 35 years in the business world, Kathy retired and is now active in many non-profit organizations in the Madison area including Capital K9's.

MARSHA COOPER
Marsha is on the board of Directors for the Wisconsin State Horse Council and is also an avid trail rider. She has been around horses all her life and currently owns/operates a small stable south of Madison. As a past chair for the Trails Committee of the WSHC she organized the first Horse Camping 101 event in WI. Volunteering for horse events is very important to her.

CARRIE WATERS- SCHMIDT
Carrie has been active in Madison's horse community and acts as both the Secretary and Program Chair for the Oregon Horse Association. Through her role with OHA's program committee, she has increased membership and awareness of the group. She owns 6 Arabians which she shows huntseat, western and saddleseat.
TREASURER Christy Shane
Christy has loved horses her entire life and started taking lessons in natural horsemanship at an early age. She went on to work for seven summers at a Christian dude ranch in CO, then to manage a hunter/jumper barn in TN. Christy is working to build her own business as a natural horsemanship instructor/trainer.
Edie Brogan
Edie is currently the trainer for the Madison Mounted Police. She retired from policing in 2006 after 23 years of service. Edie was also the first certified mounted police instructor in the State of Wisconsin (1996) and led the county-wide interdepartmental mounted police team from 1994-2006. She was instrumental in introducing the concept and practice of natural horsemanship into mounted policing in Dane County.
Marry Anne Thurber
MaryAnne is a retired police officer from the City of Madison Police Department and is a lifelong equine enthusiast. Mary Anne and her tolerant teacher, a lovely Tennessee Walker named "Addie", can be found tooling around the countryside with former MPD Sgt. Sue and "Topper".
The Horse First Farm is home to the Madison Police Mounted Patrol and located 5 miles south of beautiful Oregon, WI. The facility boasts a huge 100 x 200 ft. Coverall indoor arena and indoor viewing lounge.
The Horse First Farm is the largest Midwest natural horse care facility with a focus on Natural Horsemanship. They specialize in keeping horses in an environment that mimics natural terrain, movement and is socially stimulating to the horses.
